How to Prevent Bacterium Coli Passing from One to Another

There are different types of Bacterium Coli present in the stomach and intestines. Most of the Bacterium Coli are passive and harmless. However, the same cannot be said of Bacterium Escherichia Coli, otherwise known as E. Coli.  It is a very common bacterium that is found in the digestive tracts of animals and humans.  E.Coli can be found in soil, water and other sources of nature.

Features of E.Coli
E.Coli is vital for our health as it contains Vitamin B 12 and Vitamin K which is manufactured by it in the large intestine. Unlike other Bacterium Coli in the intestine, E.Coli can also survive and grow with oxygen also. E.Coli is a single species of bacteria with many strains. Most of these strains are harmless except for a few which can be potentially deadly and can infect humans pretty quickly.

How E.Coli is Transmitted

Since E.Coli is present in nature also, it is easily transmitted when you drink water or milk, eat food. It can also be transmitted through flies and other insects as well. This type of Bacterium Coli when it enters your system, can lead to gastrointestinal problems. Further mutations of E.Coli in your body can lead to strains that can cause diarrhea and attack the intestinal lining or just stick to the intestinal wall. There are some strains of E.Coli that can cause bloody diarrhea and kidney failure and in some rare cases, even death.

Prevention of E.Coli

There are different types of therapies for this kind of Bacterium Coli. This illness is self limiting and does not last for long. The essential therapy is liquid replacement and use of certain drugs to reduce the intensity of diarrhea and related gastrointestinal illnesses. In order to prevent this Bacterium Coli passing from one to another, it is suggested that you eat only properly cooked food and meat. Always ensure that meat and other kinds of food stuff are washed properly before being consumed. Finally, make sure that you maintain complete personal hygiene in order to prevent the Bacterium Coli from spreading to others.
